Beetroot Batura – A colourful breakfast recipe

Try out these healthy version of batura at home especially if you don’t like the taste of beetroots.You won’t even know beets have been added whenyou taste it. Check out the recipe.

Recipe for Beetroot batura

Ingredients required

Whole wheat flour/Atta – 3 cups

Salt – As per taste

Water -For kneading

Curd- 4 tbsp

Beetroot – 1medium sized (steamed and pureed)

A pinch of Baking soda

Refined oil for deep frying

Method of Preparation

In a workplace knead all the ingredients except oil together until it becomes a uniform dough.(Initially add only little water…increase amount of water to obtain a good workable dough.)

Cover with a towel and keep aside for 1 hour.

Make small round balls out of the dough.

Flatten it by dusting flour using a rolling pin.

Heat oil in a saucepan . Fry both sides of each puri in hot oil.

The healthy version of batura is ready to be served….
