After seeing my blog, many of my friends have been asking me,”Do you eat so much of non-vegetarian food”? Now, let me make it clear…If a kilo of chicken or beef is bought at home, atleast 4 different items are prepared owing to my interest in cooking .Chicken Manchurian is real good tasty Indo-chinese delicacy. Chicken is so succulent and juicy that chicken manchurian would be a delight to chicken lovers out there. Here is the recipe of this wonderful dish.
Chicken cut into small pieces- half kg(I prefer chicken pieces with bone as it is more flavourful but normally boneless chicken is used)
Egg – 1
Cornflour- 4 tbsp
Chilli powder – 1tsp
salt- as per requirement
Soya sauce- 3 tbsp
Chilli sauce – 3 tbsp
Onion – 2 medium sized (cut into big slices)
Garlic- 2 tbsp( sliced)
Chicken stock- 1/4 cup
Capsicum- 1/2 ( sliced into cubes)
Red Bell Pepper -1/2 (sliced into cubes)
Refined oil – 5 tbsp+ for frying(I have used sunflower oil)
Method of Preparation
Mix the egg, 4 tbsp cornflour, salt , 1 tbsp soya sauce and chilli powder in a bowl.Add the chicken pieces and marinate for 1 hour.
Heat sufficient oil in a saucepan. Deep fry the marinated chicken for two to three minutes.(It is important to see that chicken is not overcooked. Make sure chicken is deep fried in High flame.) Drain on kitchen tissue/absorbent paper.
Heat five tablespoons oil in a saucepan, add garlic and sauté.
Add the onion and green chillies and continue to stir fry for a minute. Finally add green capsicum and red capsicum and saute for a few seconds. Stir in the remaining soy sauce,chicken stock and salt.
When the mixture roll boils add in 1 tbsp cornflour made into a paste.
When it thickens, add fried chicken pieces and cook by stirring it continuously.
The delicious Chicken Manchurian is ready.
Tips 1.Cook it in high flame only.
2.Use Chinese wok or saucepan that is not thickened at the bottom.
