RECIPE FOR CREAM CHEESE POUND CAKE
3 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup package cream cheese, room temperature
3 cups granulated sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
6 large eggs
Method of Preparation
Sift all purpose flour, baking powder and baking soda 2 times and reserve.
With an electric beater, beat butter, salt and cream cheese till it becomes smooth. Add sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla.
Fold in flour mix slowly adding only one-third at a time.
Prepare a cake tin and pour the batter into cake tin.
Bake in a pre-heated oven at 200° C for 45-50 minutes.
When the cake is done it will be golden in colour. A toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
