Stuffed Squid / Kanava nirachu Porichadu

These stuffed  squid is too good to taste and an interesting recipe. This is another of Ummachi’s innovative and amazing recipe that you will surely enjoy.Normally at home, Kanava/Squid Thoran( a kind of stir fry with coconut) or Kanava/Squid fry is prepared.At home, Shira(my brother) is very much  fond of Squid. Check out the recipe for Stuffed Squid and decide for yourself whether it’s unique or not.

Recipe for Stuffed squid

Ingredients required

Squid/ Kanava – 7 ( cleaned and head removed, Reserve the head portion )
Kashmiri chilly powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder- Half tsp
fennel powder- Half tsp
Salt- As per required
For stuffing
Potato(cooked and mashed)- 2 no.s
Capsicum- Half
Onion- 1 onion(chopped)
Garlic- 1 tbsp
Pepper powder- 1 tsp(can add more if you want it more spicy)
Green chillies- 3 no.s
Garam masala-Quarter tsp
Oil- 2-3 tbsp+ for frying ( You can use any refined oil) 
Salt- As per required
Method of Preparation

Marinate 6 no.s of squids with Kashmiri chilli powder ,Turmeric powder, fennel powder and salt.( Make sure that only the outer side is marinated and inner side is stuffed and not marinated). Cut 1 squid and removed heads of the other 6 squids into small pieces and reserve.

To prepare the stuffing heat pan and add oil. Saute garlic, onion and green chillies till onion turns golden brown .
Add reserved squid. Then add capsicum and saute. Add mashed potato, pepper powder, garam masala and enough salt and mix well. Finally add coriander leaves . Now the stuffing is ready.

Fill the stuffing into the squids by pressing with fingers.

Heat oil in a saucepan, add the stuffed squid and fry all the sides till it turns golden brown. Stuffed squid is ready.
